About Me I was born in New Jersey and I make no apologies for it. The year was 1961—a time when men still wore hats. From that first year onward, I continued to grow taller in steady increments, reaching my maximum height of 5’10’’in 1979. I’ve always been a writer of one sort or another. And, although I’ve been fortunate enough to have had two books published (with plans for more), much of my humorous fiction has, only been seen by the good folks at Kinko’s. In the Comic Writings section of this site, you’ll find a partial collection of my humorous stories and comedy sketches--some are old, some are new. I’ve also written four comedy screenplays (the last being Roland’s Gang, which won an Honorable Mention in the Writer’s Digest Annual Writing Competition) all of which are laying dormant in my desk drawer. Comedy has always been one of my passions. I’ve been a student of comedy since I discovered the Marx Brothers, Laurel & Hardy, and W.C. Fields since my early teens. Music has always been an important part of my life as well, and the Beatles in particular have always meant the most to me. But, while rock music has provided the soundtrack for many of my fondest personal memories. I love jazz, if it’s old enough (especially Big Band swing) and blues. Most people who know me also know of my love affair with Brazilian Bossa Nova. Summer wouldn’t be the same without it. Still more about me--I’ve been to some beautiful places around the world. There are people who have traveled far more extensively and frequently than I have, but I’d say I’ve done all right. Destinations have included, first and foremost, Great Britain. I’ve been to England and/or Scotland a total of seven times, and even dipped into Wales on one trip. Since my wife Karen and I are both Anglophiles, we honeymooned in England and Scotland—my favorite places on Earth. Other visits: The Netherlands (twice), Switzerland, Italy, Israel, and Puerto Rico (thrice). Trips to memorable U.S. states have included California, Arizona, and Florida. Photos of some of these locales can be seen in the Garry’s Gallery section of this site. |
